I’m not sure I’m following totally but this is fascinating. What I’m wondering is how this plays out with corporations competing for memberships. You already see the competition between streaming services (and substacks, actually) since people only have so much income. Can we expect the Great Walmart-Amazon War? Or the Nike people fighting the Adidas people in the street like soccer hooligans?

This whole series is pretty groundbreaking. Of particular interest to me here is your characterization of Nock, someone I’ve not read. I can totally see now how yarvins approach is modeled on his!

The Fall of Capitalism is turning out much worse than the fall of Communism, surely.

People need meaning in their lives and something beyond themselves. This isn’t a recent discovery. It isn’t an ancient discovery. It was discovered certainly by the time of Stonehenge or any ancient artifact of religion or burial mounds. It may have been known to the hunters who painted in caves 35,000 years ago.

So what has stood the test of time indeed any real tests?

Family

Religion

Country or nation (ancient tribes were referred to as Nations).

There’s some other tried and true ones out there such as natural law, Truth and Beauty, actual art, and so on.

So what can this remnant do?

Without actual power- which has presently been reduced to its base of force- not much.

You *could* try raising the tone, perhaps exciting interest in the tried and true above, and perhaps leverage the growing interest in the traditional life - which is presently so transgressive that its become the cause of NYC Bohemians (Dimes Square).

This would probably sound policy and allow The Remnant to establish a credible base and record for you see the oft wished and long awaited collapse is upon us in the form of the 4 Horsemen of Ancient fame, or if that’s too much The Gods of The Copybook Headings Return...

...yes.

Or you could notice that America for instance has returned to 19th Century politics ala the Return of de facto slavery for those outside “our fortified Democracy “, which is of course an interregnum.

The Fortified Democracy (TM) shall not last, the return of 2d class Americans without political or legal rights who are subject to having their children groomed shall take longer to unwind. Now there’s a cause with some power, eh? At least it used to have power. Slavery I mean.
